Services offered at White Cloud Health Center

Acute Clinical and Primary Care

The ambulatory clinic is open from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Scheduled appointments are encouraged, but may take emergency walk-in's. The clinic is staffed with a physician, mid-level providers, RNs and LPN and offers on-site care of both acute and chronic medical problems, as well as laboratory services performed by our phlebotomy techs.

Pharmacy

Pharmacy services are provided on-site and prescriptions are prepared at the time of the visit. The lead pharmacist will provide education on medications. Prescription mail service and prepackaging are also offered through the clinic and may be delivered to you by our CHR driver if arrangements are made.

Purchase Referred Care (PRC)

Services that cannot be provided at WCHC itself can be requested by the provider staff. Patients are then referred to local or regional outside facilities that best suites the need of their medical diagnoses. These are prioritized to those with the most urgent medical needs. Patient's must live within the PRC area and enrolled in a Federally Recognized Tribe to meet PRC eligibility. Service areas include: Doniphan County, Brown County, Richardson County, Jackson County, and Holt County.

Dental

Our dental clinic currently operates daily and is staffed by a dentist alongside a group of dental hygienist technician. General family dentistry services such as preventive, routine, and restorative treatments are provided by appointment only, however, walk-ins might be seen the same day given the circumstances.

Public Health Nursing

Our public health nurse serves as the community health nurse, to ensure that our served community is made aware of important health issues from the CDC or hazards and that appropriate steps are taken to minimize the spread of sicknesses. This includes hosting flu-clinics, health fairs, and  taking the necessary steps for home-health appointments for patients.

Community Health Representative (CHR)

The CHR program provides services to link us to community members whose health challenges make travel to WCHC difficult or unsafe. CHRs can deliver services (e.g. medications) to patients at home and transport patients to other facilities for medical appointments. CHR appointments can be arranged through the front desk.

Special Diabetes Program

WCHC is the recipient of funding from the IHS (Indian Health Service) SDPI (Special Diabetes Program for Indians), which supports and supplements the provision of services at WCHC to prevent, detect, and treat diabetes mellitus and it's complications.

Department Of Transportation (DOT) Physical

WCHC now provides Department of Transportation (DOT) physicals to individuals that are looking to uphold their Commercial Drivers License. Our provider will review your chart, medical history, current medications, and/or past surgeries. To schedule your DOT appointment, please ask to be scheduled with April Wamsley.

Behavioral Health

Counseling services are offered Monday through Thursday (7:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.) by a licensed clinical psychologist who specializes in community outreach. Medical psychiatric care is offered by appointment only. These appointments are available for in-person sessions, or telehealth sessions. Please don't be afraid to schedule a session with our provider for emotional support. The White Cloud Health Center is here for you.

Chiropractor Adjustments

WCHC now offers chiropractor services to all eligible patients every Wednesday by Dr. Bartek. General chiropractor services are provided by appointment only. Walk-in appointments are not included with this service. 

Laboratory Services

We are equipped to offer a full range of in-house laboratory services at our CLIA-Certified Lab. Our lab meets federal quality and safety standards set by the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments of 1988. Our tech's help the ordering provider gather human specimens such as blood, or urine for specialized testing.

Radiology

Our radiology tech is here every Thursday to help capture and send photos of the patients to the WCHC providers to help them diagnose and treat diseases. This may be by appointment or shortly following your appointment with a provider the same day. These appointments are made by the in-house providers only. 

Insurance Benefits

For assistance applying for insurance benefits, contact the front desk at 785-595-3450 option 131 to speak with our coordinator, Susan. She manages and helps with enrollment in Medicare or Medicaid. Occasional walk-in's are accepted, but appointments are encouraged.

Eye Glass Program

The White Cloud Health Center is offering onsite provision of eyeglass lenses and frames to beneficiaries enrolled in the ITKN or Sac and Fox Nation of MO & in KS and NE that reside in the PRC service area. 


 - Children through 12th grade will be allowed a maximum of 2 pairs of eye glasses in any 12 month period not exceeding over $500.


- Adults will be allowed one pair of eye glasses in any 12 month period not exceeding over $500.


 - Patients that prefer contact lenses instead of eye glasses can have White Cloud Health Center Optical order their contact lenses through our supplier.


- Patient are allowed an annual supply of contact lenses up to the amount of $500. If the contacts total more than $500, the patient will be required to purchase the remainder of their annual supply on their own.

Optometry Services

The White Cloud Health Center is now offering optometry services for patients enrolled in a federally recognized tribe. Dr. Losh may ask about your vision issues, general health, medications, and family eye history. This appointment may include refraction, eye pressure test, slit-lamp exam, and/or pupil dilation. 

Food As Medicine

Warúje Mánką (Food as Medicine)  sits at the crossroads of nutrition and healthcare and has been used as a form of medicine throughout history. This program partners the WCHC with United Tribes and the Ioway Farms to help bring nourishment to tribal members living within our PRC area, that are also enrolled in ITKN or Sac and Fox Nation. 


Patient's can schedule an appointment with one of our providers where the provider will then determine if they meet the criteria for Food As Medicine. If the patient meets all eligibility requirements, they will be assigned a non-transferrable booklet containing 6 dated vouchers to receive their produce. The vouchers will only be good for one week during the valid date for pick-up at the United Tribes building. The patient MUST return every three months for re-evaluation to receive a refill of their vouchers.
